Release Reminder for March 30, 2010

Good release day for 2010!!!! Wu-Massacre came out today with three different covers.(Really diggin the Wu shit even though the album was reportedly rushed) Also Ushers latest album "Raymond V Raymond" dropped. For movies, Sherlock Holmes came out. I saw the move in theaters, and i thoroughly enjoyed it. O and if you buy the Blu-Ray, you get the standard DVD with it so maybe people will stop bitching at me for buying Blu-Rays yet they are the ones with old technology. All recommended cops for this week!!!

Duke is headin to the Final Four

Duke beat Baylor 78-71 to head to the Final Four. Duke won in large part to Nolan Smith who lead all scorers with 29pts.

Before Pharrell dropped his solo album, In My Mind, there was the Prequel. A mixtape hosted by none other than Mr. Gangsta Grillz himself, DJ Drama. Just at the sound of that you should be hype. Personal opinion, the mixtape is better than the album. Pharrell picks the dopest beats with most of them becoming from Wu-Tang members. I love the mixtape, i push play cd. Go download this shit ASAP.

Release Reminder for March 23, 2010

A little bit more came out today than the usual for 2010. If you didn't get enough with Snoop's Malice in Wonderland, 7 new tracks are brought to you by Snoop's More Malice which includes Jay-Z's obliterating of I Wanna Rock. Wu member Inspectah Deck, drops his solo joint in Manifesto. On the DVD side, Blindside came out which I highly recommend. That's all for this week until the Wu-Massacre!!!

and the Monarchs season comes to a close.......

After the way the game started, I figured Baylor was well on it's way to blow out ODU. The Monarchs did keep the game within 10 points but the guard play from Tweety Carter (Lil Boosie lookin ass mother fucker) and LaceDarius Dunn was stellar in the first half. ODU, led by Frank Hassell stormed back in the second half to get it to the point where the lead was going back and forth. However, Center Josh Loomers of Baylor was right on the money second half by scoring 12 of his 14 pts. With around 3 minutes left, ODU just couldnt put it together to pull the second straight upset and head to the Sweet 16. Poor defense(allowing Baylor to shoot 52%),bad shot selection and costly turnovers led to the demise. ODU played much better in the second half by taking away the 3 ball, but could not stop Baylor in the crunch. At the end of the day, the score 76-68 in Baylor's favor. I admit, I am extremely bummed. I feel the game was within the grasp of the team, but starting off so poorly did not help the cause. This team however did not let me down. A CAA regular season and CAA tournament titles are impressive, to then go on National TV and take down a Big East power in Notre Dame is even better. The Baylor loss hurts, but to go toe to toe, for 40 minutes with a Big 12(most likely best conference in the college basketball this year),top 1o team in the nation, you should feel proud Monarchs. This is the last game for seniors Marsharee Neely and Gerald Lee, both which are HUGE losses. However, everyone else will be back with the addition of Kecoughtan's own Dmitri Batten, who turned down offers from the University of Miami and VCU to join the Monarchs. Keep your head up Darius, we will be back next year, no one in the CAA is close and this team got the tournament experience it needed. FUCK EM UP FUCK EM UP ODU!!!!!!

ODU beats Notre Dame 51-50

Frank Hassell and my beloved Monarchs put Notre Dame out of the NCAA tourney day one. I called it, I felt Notre Dame was not a better team regardless of them being the in the Big East and what not. Frank and Gerald Lee pretty much shut down All-American Luke Harangody who had 4 pts, all coming under 12 secs left in the game. Keyon Carter really showed up today too. The boys will have their hands full with no.3 seed Baylor next round. Hell I have Baylor in the National Championship in one of my brackets, but I will still be rooting for ODU. They can pull it off, this team is good. Remember back in 06? Yea, George Mason was an 11 seed too. Hmmmmm, im not speculating yet but this team is better than that Mason team............Final Four anyone?????

Christian Laettner received the pass from Grant Hill and threw up the jumper to beat Kentucky in the Final Four and later win the National Championship.

Not exactly a buzzer beater, but Gerald Henderson's Coast to coast layup won the game for us. Damn i miss Gerald Henderson, Duke would be unstoppable!!!!!!!

Mixtape of the Week

I'm gonna try this, give u a mixtape to listen to every week. I'm not heavy on the mixtape scene, but i have to listen to a good share of them that i can steer u in the right direction. These Mixtapes may not be brand new, but they won't let you down. I'm gonna start this week off with Fabolous' DJ Drama hosted There is No Competition 2: The Funeral Service. I for one had no idea that it was out until a few people told me that i needed it in my collection ASAP. They were soooo right!!! I love FAB, i have every album he has ever made, i recommend him to other people, I like his music. This mixtape right here, is the hardest i have ever heard him spit. EVERY song is dope and he is killin the punchlines. I'm done speakin go download this shit right now.

Throwback Joint of the Week

Many believe that Nas won the feud with Jay-Z because of "Ether". Now, no one doubts that "Ether" is one of the hardest diss tracks EVER. People normally compare it to Jay-Z's "Takeover". The song that Hova put out that no one talks about, even though he goes INNNNN, is "Blueprint 2". He kills Nas in this song, especially verse two. He even talks of Nas' brother Jungle in the line, "the little homie jungle is a garden to me"......HOVA spits some of the best bars of his career in this song.....

As some of you may know, Robin Thicke went by the stage name Thicke back in the day. When i first saw the video, I liked the song but this longed haired guy looked so out of place. WOW, 2010 has been horrendous for music. I have not bought a single album until yesterday. Two in fact that I think you need to purchase. The most sucessful virtual band, The Gorillaz, dropped their new album Plastic Beach. Also as you may know, my favorite artist is Ludacris and I support anything he puts out. His new concept album, Battle of the Sexes, dropped yesterday also. Reviews have not been kind to Luda but its got a good number of party type club shit. I like it so far. But do yourself a favor and go cop the first two quality albums of 2010(all the way in March smh).
